What's going on at Harbor during Lent?
Lent Devotionals
Below, find links to downloadable pdfs of the daily Lent devotionals, by week. You can also view them on our socials - Facebook, Instagram, and Bluesky.
Lectio Divina Series
Every Sunday of Lent, community member Katie Greene will lead meditations on the Penitential Psalms through the practice of Lectio Divina (“Divine Reading” in Latin). We’ll meet after service at 11:30 in the HSM room, and while nobody is required to come every week, we hope you’ll join us!
Lectio Divina is a traditional monastic practice from Western Christianity that has become a meaningful spiritual practice for Christians throughout the world. It focuses on scripture reading, meditation, and prayer, intended to promote communion with God and to increase the knowledge of God’s word.
Maundy Thursday Service
April 17 | 6:30-7:30pm
Maundy Thursday, also known as Holy Thursday, commemorates the night before Jesus' crucifixion. Traditionally observed during Holy Week, it marks the Last Supper where Jesus shared bread and wine with his disciples, instituting the sacrament of communion, and also includes the act of Jesus washing his disciples' feet as a symbol of humility and service.
Join us at Harbor for a community potluck dinner to celebrate Maundy Thursday! Share a soup, salad, or bread, and join in the spirit of communion and foot washing service. It's a time for reflection and fellowship.
Good Friday Worship Service
April 18 | 6:30-7:30pm
Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and is a significant day observed during Holy Week. This solemn occasion symbolizes the sacrifice and selfless love demonstrated by Jesus, as we reflect on the events leading to his death on the cross for the redemption of humanity.
This Good Friday, come together with us for a worship service. Let's unite in remembrance of Christ's selfless act. Join us for an evening of reflection and reverence.
